Hmm...

Gang Garrison has Quote and Curly as playable characters, Cat Poke has Cave Story paintings, Runner2 has Quote as DLC, Kid Icarus:Uprising might have a reference to Curly snuck in, and The Suite Life On Deck has a Cave Story arcade machine. That's all I can remember right now...

What other machine gun robot girlfriends do you know? Also, I don't think this counts, but Quote, Curly, and Balrog are in Indie Game: The Movie: The Game. Even though that game just has you finding characters from indie games in a screen filled with 127 icons.

I had a friend of mine show me the CS arcade machine after I told him about Cave Story and he saw it while watching the show. I was like "Wut?" because I never watched that show and was very surprised about this. I knew about Cave Story cameos in Gang Garrison, Runner 2 and Terraria.
God, Gang Garrison readme was awful. One of the sections was on characters, and there was question there with "Are there any hidden characters?" or something like that, and they replied with "No, you can QUOTE me on that." I don't remember since I picked it up dropped it in a weeks time about 4-5 or even longer months ago.

Wow I just looked up that scene from Suite Life on Deck too it's pretty interesting to see stuff like that.
Yeah in case you guys didn't know about this in GG2 you press "Q" while in the character select screen.

I've heard whispers about CS being incorporated into the next SSB somehow. Wouldn't be surprised if it happened. Less popular things have been included/referenced.

Terraria (Quote's hat), Bit Trip Runner 2 (Quote as bonus playable character), and 1001 Spikes (Curly as bonus playable character) from memory.
