On Nicalis' blog, it states that Cave Story+ has a fourth ending. If you don't want to click the link, heres a picture:

Has anyone been able to find this fourth ending? There are only three in the original. I don't think that the mimiga mask altered good ending counts as a unique ending, so it's something different. What do you guys say?

Yeah, probably Mimiga Ending is number four.
Mimiga Mask ending includes a couple different ending images, and dialogues are changed here and there. Not REALLY that unique, but technically unique...

It's another ending, but not a UNIQUE ending. If it were a UNIQUE ending, it would be something like this. It says four UNIQUE endings on their blog. But maybe they're just using hyperbole?

As much as I would like to believe there is a secret new addition to CS+...

English is blurred...
But, hey! I haven't beaten CS+ with the Xmas mod yet...

Hmm... well, the reason I'm making such a fuss about this is because on their website when they were describing the Wiiware version, they said it has three endings. But when they introduced CS+, they started saying four. That must indicate something.

It means they're full of it.

Seriously, not to sound brash, but I know what I'm talking about. I've been through the game, inside and out, I beta tested it and I can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt that there isn't any secret new content that has somehow managed to slip by under everybody's nose. There are some mods included with CS+ but there are no modifications to the original game besides the "translation" and other superficial changes (graphics).

Alot of interesting things can be found in the game's base folder.

When Noxid means says "beyond the shadow of a doubt" he means it.

He's the guy who would know if there was something like a fourth ending by looking through the data. As a matter of fact, you really don't have to be a genius to look through the game data and see all the game has to offer.

Case closed.

Alright, I rest my case. I guess it was just that they count the mimiga mask altered ending as a unique one.

Still, I'm surprised that the Xmas mod remained secret for 10 days... Meaning it's possible that they could hide something in a CS+ update if they really wanted to.

But, yeah... we have a better chance at getting the beta from Pixel than getting story expansions to the original game.

EDIT: OH Mr. Little, I always keep him close...

All that is is just one single sentence added. It's even less unique than several scenes of alternate dialog, and different Credit illustrations.

Guys i actually think that stupid "wind fortress" or whatever bonus level IS what they are calling the fourth ending. Hell, they made it from scratch, which is one of the very few things seperating this from the Wii version, so it's probably that they are going on about.

There isnt much context given to the events in wind fortress, so i dont know when it's supposed to take place. But it's one of the last achievements in the program, so they can call it an ending if it pleases them.

Honestly, thats all this is about. Wind Fortress. So what.

Hmmm... that's probably just something that happend AFTER the events of the third ending. Not an extra ending in and of itself.

Whether it makes sense or not, it's what they are calling it, for the reasons i stated. In the most literal sense, there is no fourth ending, because the game has been looked over by a couple of our wisest members.

But as far as the claim, as it was made by the company that made it goes, they conisder it on some level a "fourth ending". There is no other explanation.
