Ok So it has been ported to the psp xbox and many other consoles

but what about ipod touch?

Pixel is willing to gibe the soure code away as he has for the other porrts.

Would this be possible with the source code and would anyone give a shot at doing it?

This may be in thw wrong section but i didnt know where to put it

I just heard that he asked people to stop working on their ports of cave story when he started on the wiiware version. If anyone else has better confirmation of this, feel free to add your bit.

Also, the controls would be really really awkward on the touch.

How would you jump, shoot, and move at the same time?

Yeah, but you'd have to be rotating the iPod while flicking and mashing the screen.

It just doesn't seem practical.

Well, nobody is going to be speedrunning it on their iPods.

It's true. Fan ports are on hold until the WiiWare version is out, including in-development ones.

More or less like playing the Super Monkey Ball app. You just move it up to jump, lean left or right. You're right never gonna happen.

But they made it for the TI-84 calculator. :p

Heheh, I'm imaging playing Cave Story like that, and can't help but chuckle...
I think it'd actually be sorta fun.
...Well, until Sacred Grounds.
You'd be lucky to have a working iPod after 5 minutes in there.

Re: Ah, my imagination...

The booster would be fun. You'd have to run down the street to keep the force going in one line.

If this manages to make it into the app store, it should usea control system like eliminate pro's. If it doesn't, use icontrolpad. Release it on cydia.

Might we be getting ahead of ourselves just asmidge? I'm pretty sure it would NEVER get to the app store, because that involves selling it.

I think it just wouldn't work. It would have to be toned down a ton just to be playable (Monster X? Rmember him?) even if you don't count the insanity bonus level.

I can only imagine the possibilites.

Your finally about to beat the Undead Core, the mini cores shoot at you. You do the above to boost, you're right about to get over the projectiles when *BAM* you run into a wall. Oh crap! You hit the blasts and you Died!

Press F2 to Reset. :p

Well, it would be hard but not impossible. Does anyone here work as a Apple app programmer? Because if not, it will never happen.

There are many free app store games. Even a free MMO, but that's another story.
Monster X was easy. You use Sword at level three, stand under him, shoot until he dies. Jump over the treads when he drives.
Also, I thought Pixel already rejected this idea once. Didn't he?
