So, I recently gotten a 64 bit computer and got steam.
Anyways, for some reason, when I try to play Cave Story plus, whenever I launch it, it crashes and says
"Cave Story plus has stopped working".

Here are the specs of my pc (its a lenovo thinkcentre):

OS: Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E300 @ 2.66Ghz 2.67Ghz
4.00 GB ram (3.47GB usable)

I'm using an onboard graphics card.

Can somebody help me? thanks

Do you have the latest drivers for your GPU?

No. I'm using on board graphics (I don't have a video card installed). I'm planning on getting a video card sometime soon, as my current video card isn't compatible with my current

Where did you install Steam and more importantly, Cave Story?
Make sure it's installed in Program Files (x86), and not just Program Files.

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit with no problems, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Maybe try right click on CS+ in Steam -> Local Files -> Verify Integrity of Game Cache. And if that doesn't work delete and reinstall it.

I actually think I had a similar problem where it kept crashing when I FIRST got CS+ for Steam... way back now. What did I do to fix it...

Can't recall, but maybe this will help:

Apparently others are having the same issue, this discussion has a download for two dlls it might need. Maybe that'll help? (Though those dlls aren't in my CS+ folder. I do recognize the dlls, and think they are commonly needed.)

Also, I read that the humble bundle version of CS+ should work even if the Steam version is having problems. If these solutions don't work, maybe comparing the humble version and Steam version might shed some light.

EDIT:
Also, it wouldn't hurt to open up the directory, and try running the CaveStory+.exe directly. Maybe delete/move screen.cfg too? If it's trying to run full screen and having a problem...?

I have similar specs to you and it runs fine. Had this issue with some games before, see if running in XP compatibility mode works. Could be a driver issue though, as they said before.

Did you verify your game files? If you don't know how to do this, right-click it in your library and select 'Properties'. Click the 'Local Files' tab (or 'game files' or whatever) then select 'Verify Integrity of Game Cache'.
