First, hey there guys. I'm Ein, a big fan of cave story and this site. Been browsing this for a few months and now I'm really interested in some info only you guys can give to me.
I know the site has some screenshots of a cave story beta, but some things are bugging me. It looks like the game had current, "cian", and a shop to buy weapons... I wonder how do you get money in the beta? I mean, killing monsters is a odd way to get money...
There are also different Quote palettes, like different armor upgrades (think Metroid)... I'd like to have more info about those, or if they are simply changes over the development of the game.
The "Pause Screen" I pressume is somewhat similar to that of Mega Man Zero

and the "life" system kinda of remembers me of Zelda...
Weapons had ammo, like every one of them, that way Quote would end up without a way to shot if you ran out of ammo... I wonder if there is a "infinite ammo" gun like Polar Star.
But by far, this is what really got me interested.

In this pic we can see tiles used in the actual game. And the background for most caves is also there. It looks like a "Plantation with Balcony sprites" to me. So can I assume this was made in the late stages of the game? As far as I know, Pixel used to release smalls beta to people to test as it's pointed in some script left in the game. Were these betas the ones we see in the screenshot or betas from the actual game?
Lastly, go beg Pixel to release more screenshots.
