I made a Cave Story map, I have to say the texture quality is crappy, BUT it's made from the original tilesets! (Only 16x16 or 32x32 blocks!)

Enjoy some screenshots:

I wouldn't have figured you for a Quake 3 player...! Been ages since I played that game.
The screenshots certainly doesn't feel like Cave Story though [more of an old 3d zelda game]. It'd be a tough job to recreate CS in 3d and retain that retro feel...

Imagine having Cave Story physics in 3d lol

We're talking about the screenshots, not the feel of the game. I definitely wouldn't want CS to develop into 3-d, or Pixel's work will be forgotten like Grand Theft Auto.

Well, regardless; cool to see Doukutsu in another game~
I'll have to look for my Q3 CD if you release this :D

[I still believe CS could go 3d and be just as amazing, but it wouldn't and shouldn't look like any other 3d game out there that I've seen; and it'd have to move unlike anything we've played... It'd need to be artistic and innovative while remaining fun like we've come to expect... I've seen 3d mess up plenty of great old games in my opinion.. doesn't mean it can't be done successfully though.]

The reason those pics are slightly unrealistic is that the tiles and blocks look too similar; remember that the blocks are cracked, and not designed to be that way. But I don't believe it possible to make it any better without compromising the Cave Story look.

You two should start playing Quake III again, after I finished some levels, then nmn and Roonlib should find their CD's and then we should run a Q3A server ;P

The thing is, I do not have the game CDs or anything to run it. I only played it at school, and nowhere else. Unless there is a downloadable version, I will not be playing anytime soon...

Are you living in UK or USA? Perhaps you should try eBay.

U.S.A, and eBay has not really been that reliable for me. I am thinking about trying Amazon. Is it possible for me to find a downloadable version for free?

Not legal and you need a CD Key to play online too. That's the prob...
I swear I saw a Quake III Arena for less than 1 dollar somewhere at Amazon.

Does "Team Mission" link with the regular version?
