Ok no more images.On a different note i have to say what a nice surprise this was when i saw this thread.But why to i get the feeling this will A-be cancelled or B-delayed.

Cave Story is one of those strange series were you want a sequal, yet there really isn't much to base a sequal on that's in the original:

-The red petals only work on Mimigas, which only [apparently] live underground
-Misery and Balrog turned out to be good, so they can't be the antagonists
-The Doctor died in a bloody mess
-They left the island

Whatever he'd make a sequal on, it would most likely be an entirely new enviornment with a new antagonist and a different Mimiga culture, if Mimigas are present elsewhere to begin with. The only thing I can think of that could be used as a plot hook would be if Ballos didn't actually die during the explosion, which, considering how badly he [literally] fell apart, probably isn't likely.

So who knows what it will be about.

I get the feeling another Cave Story game would be a prequel because of all the unanswered questions about the past. For instance, the game could be about Quote and Curly arriving on the island and taking on Miakid. That would even allow for multiplayer.

CS' backstory has all the makings of a great prequel.

@CF: Although Quote and Curly's role back then was quite minor, so centering a prequel around them doesn't really make sense.

Another thing I would have liked to have explained would be the world governments and their role. Was their last interaction with the island with Miakid's come to power, or even further back? Heck, where are the government forces for the most recent crowning of the doctor?

Perhaps you don't know what the uncanny valley is. To invoke the uncanny valley, they would have to make the characters realistic. Making them chibis is a good way to avoid the uncanny valley.

Hmm. The Chibis unnerve me. I drink my graphics straight and realistic. But what is the alternative this time?

I hope this isn't going to be another Cavestowii. I think I'd like a complete re-do this time, not a half-baked one.

First learn PROPER gramar.Second if you hate cave story i ask what are you doing here infact i dont see how anyone could hate it.And 3rd chibi i believe is when you shrink characters and give them cartoony looks

So I figured out something that was bothering me about this. The lines on Quote's face and his general chibification make him look kind of like a doll and so now I'm reminded of all the shitty fanart that tries to draw him like one :/

Well, now that he's in 3D, it's hard for me not to think of him as a fancy Sackboy!

Also, press release of Cave Story 3DS. Haven't watched it yet myself.
