Cave Atari

OK. This mod is inspired by my fanart thing I did with the Atari-Style Quote in Grasstown.

At least its longer than one of BLink's old mini mods, to say the least.

You really could have put a lot more work into the graphics for this. The graphics look too blocky. As Zarrot said, even though it's half resolution, it can still look decent, like this. I mean, the health hearts in this mod don't even bear so much as a small resemblance to the shape of a heart. I am not sure how necessary it was to slow the music down. Just taking out some tracks to the music and making it sound more simple would have been fine.

There were also a few glitches:

- When you enter the mouth, a text box sound plays before you transition to the next room, and if you try to go back to the door where you came from, you'll just get a question mark.
- At the beginning of the second room, the crevice to the left has invisible water in it that you can drown in (which makes Quote's vanilla freeware drowned sprite appear by the way). And there's also a ditch nearby that makes the character do an awkward jump by walking forward.
- There was another place near the beginning of the third room that has a sloped tile placed where it ought not to be which causes the player to suddenly jump.
- The transition from the second room to the third room is very abrupt.


So you seemed to imply that there will be more content. The story seemed to have closure, how will a continuation of this play out? I guess that's all I have to say about this short mod, Atari Story, a. k. a. Doukutsu MonogATARI.

 

It may not be atari graphics, but I still like how it looks. Pretty good job.

EDIT: Played the "expanded version" Added a few rooms (In the first room that was added: Multiple doors don't work, there's random spots that have water) New endings though

2D says there's four endings, there's a secret "ending" though. That's all I'm saying.
