It's death's duty to wake Dracula up each time he's resurrected with a cup of hot coffee. That's been his job ever since the very beginning of the Castlevania series. Everyone knows that. And yes, they're friends. BFF's actually.

I had a thread about this awhile back. If it's possible, would you mind bringing it back up to the first page, SkyeWelse?

Anyway, as for Death's motives, he's manipulating Dracula to cause the never-ending battle between good and evil to continue indefinitely. It's talked about all the time in Dawn of Sorrow how the balance needs to be maintained, and that's what Death is doing. I had an even bigger argument revolving around this in aforementioned thread, but it seems to have dropped off the face of the forum.
