What's the deal with shops that sell bottled water? It is the most obvious scam ever. I understant it when it is sold on a place where tap water isn't clean but In Australia most tap water is perfectly good to drink and yet one of my friends at school today was about to buy a bottle at the canteen and it costs about a dollar fifty and i just said to him Dude no, it comes out of a fricking tap you could save some money there. And he got really up at me for it and I don't get why cause I was trying to help him.

Can anyone give me any idea why he would do that just cause I was warning him not to buy it?

He wants to bring the water to somewhere with no taps. Or you have to ask those who frequent Starbucks.

Bottled water is just filtered tap water.

There's your answer.

I think the point still stands:
We pay more per volume of water than we do for gas.
And.
You can filter tap water at home, for about $10 a month, if you need.

Or buy a filter for the tap that you drink from, if you really think your tap water tastes that horrible. Or you know something's wrong with your water systems in your area.

People buy bottled water mostly for a bottle to put water in. The water that comes in the bottle is an extra. :p

In all seriousness, bottled water = portable water.

(Bump without pretending to continue the flow from the last post.)

Does anyone here have a 1.5 litre bottle to fill up with water to bring to school everyday to hydrate?

I just elevate my salt intake so I retain water better.
I'm in a constant state of near rhenal failure.

Bottled water is better because most of it comes from a fucking mountain. It says so right on the bottle. That's like climbing a mountain, and you can bottle it up. Genius.
But really, I've been drinking tap water all my life, and I'm alive. You know what's cheaper than buying a water bottle whenever you're thirsty? Owning a water bottle that you can fill up whenever you want, for free.

It doesn't hurt to buy ionising shit water filters, no?

Or just add some sodium ions from your cupboard
