You mean that he's probably using hacked firmware and that he shouldn't be? Or that he should be using different hacked firmware? I'm not really an expert on this.

It's likely he's using crummy firmware. That's my guess. It's possible to sign homebrew so it'll boot on unhacked PSPs, but the legality is a bit flaky.

Pro-C is definitely the best CFW out there for your PSP.

...that being said it sounds like he doesn't have any CFW at all, so let me show him the best guide out there on installing CFW: Custom Firmware for dummies

If he doesn't have CFW, it'd probably be best to patch the games with signatures. If you want, I can do it.

That'd be great, but what if signing the games breaks them? That's happened to a couple games I've tried to sign.

That's pretty rare behavior.

Ikachan is not a Cave Story mod, so no, he probably can't.

Dreams of reality 2, CAT HAVEN, and Sue´s Story have ASM hacks, so it's not realistic you will be getting a working copy for PSP.

In fact, there are probably others in your list as well but I either haven't played them or don't recall it.

(Plus some of them aren't worth the time to port them but I'm not gonna name specifics).

Here. You were right to post your request here. It looks like Zarrot assumed you were requesting Ambient Malice to port those mods, but I'm assuming you were talking to andwhyisit, the starter of this thread who is still active. Just sit tight and wait for a response from andwhyisit.

The Rave Story psp port has a number of problems with it, so hold off on that one until I get it fixed.

I'm having a bit of trouble with the PSP port of Rave Story. Whenever I try to advance through this door, the game crashes so hard I have to force shutdown my PSP.

I'm using a PSP 1003 with PRO CFW 6.60.

I actually have a version that fixes that, and the camera bug from "the land between pixels". The problem is that the game becomes super sluggish during that rainbow-coloured stage towards the end. I wasn't in a huge rush to upload fixes because it didn't seem like anyone was playing it. Especially since I would need to rework the stage into two maps or have to conditionally spawn enemies using h/v triggers. I have a number of maps I wanted to test after that point, but I can't get 10 metres along that stage without falling to my death very slowly. Rave story pushes the psp to its limits.

I'll dig up and upload my current version sometime tonight. I might even get back to working on this again. But for now I am going to remove Rave Story from the first post of this thread.

I should get a PSP to play some of these. Is it easy enough to install these to one?
