so when will there be a version that dosent require IPs?
cuz a few people on mfgg want this

That would mean setting up a master server or something and I don't think JTE wants to make one.

Then get a firewall or you can't run a server, if someone has knowledge to start cracking attacks towards your pc, then he/she will also have the knowledge to get your ip when you're running a server which uses to connect to a master server.

If you were really paranoid, you could use a proxy. However, that's a great way to have really really slow internets.

So, I decided to try a hellrun with this (which I then realized was impossible, since the booster isn't implemented yet). I read the sign "welcome to hell", moved a few pixels left, and fell through a wall and got stuck. I think it's a bug in how slopes are handled.

There are also oddities with weapon multiplication when you retry after death:

And it doesn't give the camera control back after the Sue Block cutscene.

A lot of TSC commands aren't working yet, that's probably one of them.

Weapon multiplication? Weeeird. Maybe it doesn't clear the vector before loading again ...

If you want to make a booster yourself, crack open DXdata/Npc/obj150.lua (or whatever...) and hack away at obj.momx and obj.momy ... but you still won't get very far due to a lack of explosive Deleet to clear the way, Heavey Press, etc. ... Those also lack animation data and AI.

This is one hell of a project to be doing alone, and I never intended to be able to complete full support for the original game all by myself, but I'm doing what I can.

Well, I can't be of much help, but continue what you're doing. I appreciate it, and I'm sure many others do too.

(Posting from an outside computer, no MSN is boring)

Actually, most of the time I'm not even Away when I put "Away". I just want to see how many idiots are there who can't understand the meaning of Away (I got you once =P).

You didn't seem like you wanted any help the last time we talked. And you're very fond of keeping the sourcecode closed, that's not a good step towards cooperation.

I choose to keep the source "closed" for now because I would prefer if we didn't see an independant "S.P.'s Legends" being developed just yet. I am on constant lockdown because it has proven to be necessary from previous experiences, in this and all things.

That is not the part I need much help with. Nearly all of what I need is simply object animations and AI. Which is completely external. Which is the whole point of this project to begin with.

But noo, you don't want to help me with that. Please don't blame me for my short term decisions, even if you do not see the rationality behind them.

That's what licensing is for... I really think this is about your ego.

Lua is not my game. Besides, I refuse to believe that all the bugs with the collision detection, network play, etc. comes from scripting alone.

If you want to do this all by yourself, do it - don't go whining around that nobody helps you, because you've not really given them a chance to.

How about no.

lol just kidding. Why'd you want a room like that for? You can use Sue's Workshop to make it... add a trigger and make it dispense crystals on action.
