I'm sure some of you might have noticed that the forums are sometimes receiving spam messages from various spam-bot accounts, even after we've moved to the new server and upgraded the forums with much better spam protection. I just wanted to clarify that each one of these spam-bot accounts was registered before the upgrade. So far, we've not had a single new spam-bot registration since that upgrade. Unfortunately however, as MG.Net was plagued with tons of spam-bot registrants, especially during the last month of December, we still have a few that are hidden away that will activate occasionally and post a message, many of which are of explicit or inappropriate material.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but I wanted to let everyone here know that we are doing are best to get rid of these remaining spam accounts and getting rid of any new spam messages that appear to make MG.Net Forums a much cleaner experience for our members. There just might be a few hipcups occasionally until we can clean house on them all.

Dimenofff: What you say?! BB: You have no chance to survive make your time. Ha ha ha!

Until they're all dealt with, I may as well enjoy the opportunity to make mockup pictures about the bots that expose their names & faces one by one, which allows our staff to kill them off with their Death Notes. All those spambots will epicly fail in this epicly epic forum!

But seriously, it's great to hear that the Mirai Gamer Forums is on its way to absolute recovery from the spambot ordeal... Something that probably hasn't been seen in about 4 & 1/2 years (Though I only knew of this forum since mid 2007).

Should we report any spambot posts with the report button?

Sure, if you like. Chances are the spam threads that get posted now should stick out like a sore thumb, but we'll delete them one by one and then see about flushing the database of all the spam-bot users we know of. We might actually be able to use the <Member List> feature again. *Gasp!*

Ah yes, when was the last time that feature was effective. Personally, I think all users whose last action was more than a month/year ago and who have no posts should be deleted also. It would help.

Nah, then important people like Eich and Runelancer will be deleted.

If they ever join the Forums again (Like Runelancer did), they will wonder why they can't login :o

Hmm, yeah I guess that could work too. I never thought about the function of sorting them first when searching for a member. :p

You make it sound as though you were the one trying to sell viagra.
