• Most people probably don't realise this, but this forum has had two editors for a number of years. One is the xenForo default editor, and the other is a custom editor I made years back I called BBCEd.

    All the settings for which editor you use was lost during the upgrade. You can find the setting under Account Settings > Preferences > Editor.

i hope i dont get hated on for this but so i have idea for a mod that anybody can take i have not thought of a story though but in this mod you could play as three charcters: qoute, curly and balrog quote and curly will be the same but balrog will be a flying shooter.

Editing in a third character slot requires some tricky ASM work. It would probably be simplest to start with a mod that lets you play as Balrog (which nobody has done yet!) and work from there, because even that would require modifying some weapons/framerects/Booster 2.0's.

Yes slightly. I managed to increase the size of the hermit gunsmith for KickAss's Hermit Story as well as his hitbox. Shouldn't be too hard to do it with Balrog.

It might be a little more difficult to have two different sizes for (playable) characters in one mod.

yeah, but still not too hard. you could just have a specific flag that does it and set that whenever the transformation is made (I assume thru some sort of teleporter script).

Unfortunately, Moon pretty much summed it up. At least to me, the only thing that stands out is that the idea of having different characters to choose from has potential. For exampul, you could have different characters/stories that are unlocked after the first playthrough.

Also, is it sad that I saw bryce's avatar and immediately thought it was Kwote?

Also, I still don't get what change Balrog have from Quote except having a larger hitbox (AKA harder to dodge) and infinite booster.

Well he moves in a very different way and has different weapons, the abilities to jump on top of things to kill them, crush blocks, etcetera
So yeah. Dissimilar characters, unless you wanna be a wuss about the hacking.

I would eat this mod up honestly, I think the hardest problem would be applying different physics for the two characters. Balrog is certainly heavier and stronger than Quote, I assume his regular jump would be less potent (I guess battles with him dismiss this, dat jump height in the boulder room).
Possibly modifying the water physics check script? Or if you wanted to be a baby you could make all sections as Balrog underwater with a blacked out air tank, and tweak the water variables to your liking.

I'm not a pro ASM writer, could someone tell me if it's feasible to have a mimiga mask equip check trigger different physics? That would make it so much eaiser.

Maybe each character could have his/her own story, and each story could have different levels. In which balrog would have levels that fit his size.

I dunno about physics, though.

im back from my vacation and HOLY SHIT LOOK AT THIS MESS to make this more clearer the mod was gonna take place after cave story but im not good at long storys and already have balrogs story planed out i see balrog as with wepons jumping on people useing bubbles and rockets and if im lazy i will just say hey lets just get rid of the water all the water and make pathways for balrog to walk! but if im not i will edit a lot of stuff i even just came up with the idea of every door balrog enters he crashes through it...

Here's a modding tip.
Never, EVER let laziness stop you from making your mod the best it can be. If you don't care enough about your mod, then it will come out looking worse than it could - or you'll just abandon it.
Also good grammar and spelling on the forums would be good too. So that people can figure out what you're talking about.
