GET RID OF IT!!!! NOW!!!! IT IS THE SPAWN OF THE DEVIL!!!!!

on another note, I know it's meant to defeat spam-bots, but can you use other precautions? this one's just annoying.

Eh...

I've never even ran into the 60 second warning thing, before.
Just put more into your posts than "Yeah, what he said" or whatever. {That's where I've seen people complain about waiting 60 seconds, most of the time}
Posts are suppose to be longer than one liners, anyways...

Some posts are fine to be typed in less than 40 seconds, if there's not much to say or if it's just a simple forum game. I'm sorry the rest of this forum isn't as intelligent as Lowell, but that's just how we roll. I know this isn't a democracy, but a lot of the members don't like the 60 second rule. Important members.

It irritates Lace.
I like it.
I, as a Junior-Senior Member, move we keep it, just to annoy Lace.

Actually the main reason for any form of post throttling is to prevent people submitting the same post more than once due to connection issues at either end.

However, it does find use in slowing down any spam-bot who uses a copy paste system to flood a forum with the same post.

For everything else, are you claiming that you repeatedly manage to consider, type and check posts that add value to a topic within 60 seconds of making another post elsewhere?

If someone really cannot wait a measly <60 seconds between posts, that is their problem, not the forums'.

...

I mean come on, seriously? :/ I guess it could be reduced to ~30 seconds and still have pretty much the same effect but it's such a minor thing to fuss over. I have had it happen before - mostly because I often work on two posts simultaneously - but I've never considered it bothersome.

30 seconds is more than enough. I mean, if all I need to get my point across is one short sentence, why should I write two full paragraphs? Seriously, the timer now is more annoying than anything else (except RHF).

Yeah, it shouldn't be completely gotten rid of, but the time should be reduced. Maybe to 40 seconds. Then it would still accomplish the goals that Shiro mentioned and not be too annoying.

Or, ya know Shiro, you could impliment one of those "It seems you've already posted this. You will now be redirected to your post." type-dealios.
It would certainly stop copypasta bots.

They have that here already.

But it only works if you try to post something within 5 minutes of posting it.
