This is pretty cool. I still am wondering how it makes the Mario Pipes look like legitimate curved pipes. Does it have to do with the shading?

Yes, layer detection is a part of the game

No, shading objective is to make thing beautiful. Everything else is 2d-3d converter engine job.

I meant the pipes are actually curved if you run SMB. And I was wondering if it had to do with how the pipe sprite is shaded.

EDIT : Never Mind, I was looking at the wrong video. I don't have firefox so I was watching youtube I was looking at something else. Lol. Still a cool project though.

The video you was watch come from the same emulator 3dnes :). And the pipes are curved or not is based on 2d sprites data of pipes

Just press the Continue button. Emulation is very computational demanding that's why the browser report "busy script"

Very cool. While some games don't look significantly different (like Tetris that you demonstrated), most platformers look like they'd be fun to experiment with. Good luck on further enhancing this novel idea.

Oh wow, this looks a lot better than the first "build" or whatever. I'm still amazed that this works with any NES game

Wow that looks amazing. Just another thing that adds on to the awesomeness of this emulator. Also, not sure if you knew this yet but this was featured on The Completely Unnecessary Podcast created by Pat the NES Punk.
