Honestly you made a mistake letting the major issue happen at the very start.
I wouldn't mind if you just went back to yaboi and Metty (I named her that because she was 'blinking with the regularity of a fucking metronome' ~Yahtz 201X). That was actually kind-of intriguing. The 3rd/4th character and everything getting fucked up felt like the climax coming at the start...

... which is only okay if you suffer from premature ejaculation.
