And yet I can't see you. I can't hear you. I can't wave hello to you in the mornings, nor can I wave goodbye in the evenings. All I can sense are the words you type. It doesn't matter if you're a person behind this computer screen; the only person I really know on campus is myself.
There are ways to circumvent some of those things. Practically speaking, there isn't truly a great difference between seeing someone online and seeing someone offline. How much closer can you become to a friend by them being in front of you? You can never touch a person's mind, anyhow, and that's all that they truly are.
Emotionally speaking, though, I see why that situation could feel so lonely. I hope you manage to connect with someone out there, or stave off loneliness in another way.
