Not true, death isn't because we arbitrarily decompose faster. It all begins with our DNA.

Each time our cells divide, they have to handle the DNA and split it to make copies. But each time they do it there is a chance that they will fray the ends of the length of DNA.

Luckily for us, we have these things called "telomeres" that are just garbage filler data appended at both ends of our DNA. Instead the telomeres are frayed.

Death starts to come to us once the telomeres have rune out, and the viral DNA starts being frayed. All sorts of complications arise from that.

If we could extend these telomeres, we could effectively extend our life.

But for now, just know that extended high levels of stress greatly accelerate the rate at which the telomeres fray. (In general, not to anyone in particular) So don't stress so much in life, enjoy it. Smile, be happy, and have fun!
