I was trying to find the value of this, but I don't know if there's a proper way to do it:

This was my logic:
S = 1+2+4+8+16...
0.5S = 0.5+1+2+4+8+16...
so 0.5S = 0.5+S
Doubling, S = 1+2S
S-2S = 1
-S = 1
S = -1 ?!?!?
This has been driving me crazy for a while now because it doesn't make any sense. Could someone please point out where I went wrong? Thank you!
