...buuuut, while you're at the beginning...let's talk puzzles~

First off, <a href='http://pad.wikia.com/wiki/New_Players%27_Guide' class='bbc_url' title='External link' rel='nofollow external'>you can read this if you haven't already</a>, and you don't have to pay much mind to all of it. Particularly the "rerolling" part. Thanatos is very powerful! Especially considering it was your first, blind try (right?). That's actually quite lucky.

It seems you've gotten fairly far in one day, but I feel I should warn you. This game <em class='bbc'>can</em> suck up a lot of time, like I said. And while it may seem easy now, it does get pretty difficult, especially if you don't succumb to the evils of IAP. There comes a particular dungeon, Castle of Satan, where the difficulty starts to ramp up, and if you feel like you're not deriving much more fun from the game, I'd honestly recommend you let it go and continue on with your life. =o

That said, I hope you enjoy whatever time you put into it! It IS a neat game and quite enjoyable if you're persistent, and it's pretty fair. Nothing like the horrid Queen of Evil, Candy Crush Saga, at least in that way. If you'd like, you could add me as a friend. I got lucky when I restarted the game, and after only two pulls I got a Bastet. Not only is she a super cute cat girl, she's pretty powerful and could be of use to you. ^.^

Last time I spent money on an online game, (Ragnarok Online) I racked up the bills, and ended up quitting several months later (still have my characters though). Argh. I have that 'gotta collect them all' feeling, but I know better lol.

I chose water to start out with. I really want to evolve that one to the next step... Mmmmm.
So far I haven't died, I'm currently on Demeter Forest, haven't repeated any levels, but it's getting to the point where it's getting rough. Some enemies do half my health in damage with my current smaller team... Barely escaped death twice now...

Which leads me to the question... What happens if you die? I can't find any information on "Game Over"...
Is it, game over, GAME OVER? You lose your stuff? Or just stamina goes away for a bit?

Mmmmmm never played Candy Crush, but I've heard about it in the news... lol

Oh and yep, first time playing the game blind... There's a lot of information in that guide... I've just been trying to upgrade stuff and keep going to the next level to get more eggs so far.

It's funny - a lot of players of this game just complain about bad luck and how difficult it is to get this thing or that thing, but few people mention the nice times where you get lucky and obtain something awesome! Just like you, I started with a god - Bastet to your Thanatos - and then later pulled another god by luck. I got Isis, who's just as useful as Bastet. And you got Liu Bei - I'm happy for you! ^.^

I chose Water too :3
Plesios is fairly powerful, so don't be shy about giving him/her lots of eggs.

As for death...well, if you die in a dungeon, you lose all of the eggs you got in the dungeon and the stamina you spent to enter it is wasted. You can spend a stone to cheat death or recover all stamina, but uh...that's not a good idea.

Neither is buying stones. Fight the temptation, X! I know you can do it. -w-

Using a spare stone or two to expand box space, on the other hand, is a good idea. You've gotten kinda far, actually! Hope the luck gods smile down on you a little while longer at least . ~w~

I didn't forge on as much, but I stayed up late playing puzzles and dragons.... *hair disheveled, drool in corner of mouth, wild look in one eye, pirate patch on other...*

Bastet was a great helper ;D I didn't get too much use out of CATS, but I always made sure to use it at least once everytime I had her lol *Where is the explosion of cats animation!

Ended up using 2 stones for monster space, and might need to use another... with the godfest over, and no more dark specials, I guess I should just hold on to them.

Spread Cats is pretty useful for taking out a wave of enemies who are all about to hit you, by the way, or for hurting multiple bosses at once. Though of course the lack of cat explosions is saddening. >:

You're also the only person friended that I actually know, to be honest. Unless you have people you know and exchange codes IRL or on the internet (I don't), most friends will have no interaction with you. Though I have sent a few messages in-game and have kind of gotten to know someone by the name of Frog2. :3

TAMADRAs (caps lock always necessary) are so ridiculously rare and hard to get that there's no way I could sell or misuse them.
...but I have six just taking up space ;_;

I really want to evolve Bastet so I can use them already...

But, anyway. Lack of sleep seems to be a recurring theme in our conversation, I wonder why. :b
Considering I'm typing this after midnight and I wasted much of the afternoon in an accidental 4 hour nap...you may be on to something. o.o

Mmmmm, TODAY I played more, and am tired.

...... I finally died today, 3 times... arghhhhh
First time was on the normal dungeon Fire Forest Nerva, my stuff just is too centered around dark attacks, that when I run out of orbs.... it's a battle of chance, or hope that I randomly break out into combos (nothing like hitting a 10+ combo when you don't need it.... ;-; lol).
Going to finally have to start ranking up, maybe need to form more than one team <img src='http://www.cavestory.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/tongue2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':p' />

Hmm...

Second death was... oh yeah the Endless Corridors... made it to lvl 24 before getting smashed. Not too bad...
But the last death was the one that gets to me... was REALLY hoping to get the Tuesday Dungeon, green protector. But, those guys deal so much damage... and even though I made it all 10 battles, in the final battle I was out of green and dark spheres, and couldn't combo my way out. POOF there goes all my stamina... Ergh... I really wish I could have gone into that battle with a better hand. (was using Bastet as my backup btw ;D)

But, despite that huge letdown, earlier I did get.................. (YES!)

Anyway, this is getting more and more insane. Double eyepatch ...yet ANOTHER god somehow...even less sleep...I think you're getting a skewed sense of just how rare those gods are, by the way o.o

And...and you got a Mermaid, too! That's a ridiculously rare drop as well as coming from the machine. I certainly haven't seen one. Next you'll be obtaining a Naga or something without knowing it <img src='http://www.cavestory.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/tongue2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':p' />

You could actually try making a team of the other, less rare things in your box and use that instead of your super OP god team. They'll serve you well until you have enough team cost to put your gods to good use. Having a full team will certainly make things simpler, though possibly more difficult. And you do have a pretty decent selection. =o

Missed my status update yesterday... earlier my post was lost!

Anyway, here's the short version: Got more sleep yesterday! And stayed up late today ;-; lol (I did fall asleep in battle though earlier too... lol)
I had more luck though!! A stranger gave me a present... Aishel. Got a rare egg... one of those christmas looking present eggs... (Apparently if I evolve and max it out to 50, it's worth a million before element bonus...? D:)

Well.... I finally got 5 rainbow eggs and got another chance at the rare machine... while I should probably wait for another godfest, I really wanted any holy thing. (Like VALKYRIE! or Amaterasu!)

Cough, well... I've never gotten WHAT I wanted at the time, but I have had good luck nonetheless...
I got a toydragon... Fortoytops... Not my favorite look personally... But his final form reminds me of the final boss of another game I really liked. His half damage to wood and water seem like his star feature (and his large health). Anyways, not what I was hoping for.... but still good.... right...?

THEN I BROKE DOWN! I JUST WANT A HOLY PERSON PLEASeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee just oneeeeeeeeeeeee
......... so I clicked purchase $5 = 6 eggs... lol... .... yeah. I messed up ;-; lol

I should be a little more punctual...my posts aren't even as big and fun to read as yours :< )

But, anyways. Fortoytops and Salamander are pretty decent things to own! Having Fortoytops already evolved is quite a boon to you, it could be helpful as a way to assist staying alive in water or wood dungeons. Salamander was actually my starting roll in my previous playthrough (ahaha D: )...it's pretty decent, mostly when you evolve it. Because of the way its stats work, it'll get more powerful more quickly in its later forms and levels, but it's a bit of an investment. If you want to bother with it, a possible course of action is to level it up on the sidelines and use your Flame Guardian in the meantime.

...or you could just use it as fodder, that works too ^_^;

The way you got the two is worrying, though. I know it's just $5, but...with the slight allusion to unfortunate happenings in Ragnarok Online, that's not a good sign. Please don't give in again, it just isn't worth it...

And yeah, waiting for Godfests is wise...not the ONLY course of action, as you've demonstrated with two extra gods in the bag, but it's a good idea. =o

Your White Baron will definitely do for now. Don't worry about getting a holy thing just yet. c:

I spent a single TAMADRA on my Sunlight Carbuncle earlier. Don't even care. I got a bonus one from the Pal Egg Machine and I don't need 11 TAMADRAs, rarity be damned ._.

I expanded my box space though so it should be good now ^.^

By the way, if you do evolve those present eggs and one of them is Blanc, he/she'll do very well as a light monster for you. Other things you could consider are Harpie Demon and Fairlion, if you come across them - they're doing well for me :>

Pretty good progress for the first week! AND I did defeat the Castle of Satan. (what was with that vampire... way too much health or something... was close...)
Tried the next area and man... everything hits far too hard... I guess I just need to find stuff that will protect me better or grant me tons of health.

I did see Harpie Demon and Fairlion I think in the next area... but didn't survive it! I think it might be Blanc... need to find the material to evolve...

TAMADRA... rare and important! But I have 7 of them... They are really pushing us to increase space lol

Oh, yeah, about my allusion earlier... not paying... yet. Well, I looked online, and read about "free rainbow eggs". Hummm... Well I checked it out, and it's a semi-suspicious but well reviewed app for the iphone that gives you small amounts of points towards gift cards for installing and trying out different apps.
I guess I've had it installed for 3 days now, and went through a majority of the big point apps (I should virus scan my phone or restore it to be 100% safe though at the end lol), but I currently have a little over 3000 points or $6.00 or so. Unfortunately you have to hit 5000 to trade in for a $10 itunes gift card, but already if I wanted to, I supposebly can turn them in for a $5 Amazon gift card... Small monies... But, semi-free is fun <img src='http://www.cavestory.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/tongue2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':p' />

Because the apps are on the appstore, and apple has to approve the apps that goes up there; I at least feel marginally okay, with the whole deal. But, anyway lol. THat's my trick to try to get a few more rainbow eggs... lol...

Although, by the time I hit 10$ I'm tempted to just put it towards some...

Currently on Blazing Highway of the Technical dungeons, and still on Tower of Flare for normal. Been spending stamina on special dungeons mostly.

BUT. The last day or so, I started re-rolling with my tablet. .......................
I tested it out, having a second account with another device allows me to constantly use the helper I want lol. So I've been hoping to get Cao Cao or Burning VALKYRIE!

The Dragon Rider account might be cool, because it's ARTHUR, but yeah... juggling even 2 is more than enough accounts... 3 is pushing it already... ★Devil Dragon is actually a really good thing to have. All of the resist/ripper dragons are, since their leader skill combined with other defensive skills will be a big help in surviving certain dungeons, and they have good active skills when evolved. Since you can probably make a good mono-dark team with all of those dark monsters, definitely train it. I see you also have a Green Dragon. <img src='http://www.cavestory.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/wink2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

Like I said earlier, a lot of those can be pretty good helpers. Your choice on what to work on, but the Sakuya and Astaroth accounts do seem like the best choices - only go with the Dragon Rider if you feel like bothering. Congrats on the Valkyrie, by the way. :>

As you may have seen, I got Bastet evolved and awakened! She's at Lv 43 already thanks to some King Emeralds I've been saving...and as soon as I get a Mystic Mask, she'll be of even more use to you~...Bastet's ultimate evolution is the best <3

I wasted 15 magic stones on the REM. That doesn't count the several stones I spent on stamina and reviving earlier for something good...because those were actually utilized towards an end. I ended up with a Gryps Rider, a Blue Sky Fruit, Berry Dragon, and a Mandrake(!) for those 3 pulls. Not bad!

The Mandrake makes my second healer girl, and the Berry Dragon can be useful later. I was leery about the Gryps Rider, but apparently he's quite powerful on mono-dark teams. I can't really use him yet, so I'll keep him in my box until I can.

Later, the Godfest actually started, so I scrounged up 5 stones from Challenge Mode and rolled!...ending up with a Flame Guardian.

...yeah. Didn't roll again after selling the stupid thing. I've been wasting far too many magic stones recently, I'm done doing that for now. Besides, I <em class='bbc'>do</em> already have Bastet and Isis, two of the featured gods...so it's not like I have any right to complain. <img src='http://www.cavestory.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/tongue2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':p' />

The story of how I managed to beat Hera Descended is absolutely insane, but to put it as shortly as possible I was in a frantic rush all day, got a Ghostring that made it possible, and then entered at the last minute with the world's crappiest Resolve team...and after three stones and a day of pure grinding, <a href='https://www.dropbox.com/s/ptvjqc4t0oe17qc/Photo Jun 30, 12 27 02 PM.png' class='bbc_url' title='External link' rel='nofollow external'>I managed it!</a> What's more, your Siren was, in a way, a major help in getting her. ;D
She's creepy...but useful!

Back from my little 4th of July vacation <img src='http://www.cavestory.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/grin2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />! Went to a lake, and although it rained a lot, we still had fun. Even saw a little fireworks~

So... you got... Hera!? Awesome lol
Hera looks top tier... A bit scary, but nice. Mmmmm, I tried to get a Ghostring myself the other day, but that giant poring boss had too much HP... (was hoping Lucifer's KO attack would be my last second trump card, but it was too fat...)
Siren helped you?? Yahoo! She is a pretty nice healer...
Actually, I haven't been on that much since I started the other two accounts, and then subsequently went on vacation. So, I finally took a break, and got a little more sleep... Yes!!

I actually got involved with another iphone game or two...
That Infinity Blade trilogy of games (though I haven't played it a bunch since I got the first one).
The second game was free for a week or two a month or two ago, and I started to take iphone games seriously xD After that, I got the third one on sale, and finally just a day or two ago, the first one on sale. They are pretty fun swipe swordsmanship games with decent graphics.

But, the game that I've been wasting the most time on my iphone... It's called Evolution : Battle for Utopia. It's a pretty neat little game, with basic action mini-games, puzzles, resource management, upgrades, etc... Plays pretty well, and has a decently interesting story.
And the main character talks like Duke Nukem sometimes... (I named my character DukeNukem lol)
It's free, but on the downside, they really push in-app purchases, or else you end up grinding for resources... I haven't minded the grind so far, but the game could be so much better if it didn't rely on purchases. Still, addictive and fun. Just thought I'd mention it lol

Ohhh, and Bastet evolved, I don't think I noticed that. Congrats! I like using Bastet for backup too... Did Isis evolve yet?

I only have a little update on PAD:
I got a Forest Guardian and a mystic knight ............. ;-;
I think I was so depressed I fed them to the hungry dragon cards. (om nom nom nom)
Oh, and I pulled two mystic masks in a row from the pal egg machine!
