I ended up playing through most of the game three times so I could get the good ending... the second time I talked to Booster when he fell down the pit, and then saving, thus causing me to have to play through again... Honestly, though, how are you supposed to know that talking to him will kill...

...What do you mean? I'm actually running Windows, just inside Mac OSX in a little window. Even though I could just run the Mac version of Cave Story, I want to run it on Windows so I can mod the game. And what do you mean bitmaps? The image files are .pbm files...

I guess that would make sense, but I've played other games on my virtual machine and I've never come into this problem... why would it only happen with Cave Story? ...I know the problem probably has to do with it not reading the graphics files correctly, because I bet the text end marker isn't...
