Cave Story GM is a take on Cave Story done in Game Maker Studio
It kinda sucks I cant use Game Maker, I would totally modify the hell outa this game

Depends on which version of Game Maker Studio they're using. In case it was made with GMS1, then you can just easily get that for free.

I should take the time to port this to GMS2, not sure if it'd play nice, especially in the event that there's extensions or dlls in play.

It's made with GameMaker: Studio 2. It will only open in GameMaker: Studio 2.
So it's made in Unity, then? Your farmed post may be a bit too vague.

I'm only about 10 or so minutes in and I already love what you've done with this Mod. Your artstyle on the portaits is really good, and i love how you've redesigned sprites and animations. I look forward to what the rest of this Mod holds, and what other Mods you may decide to do in the future.

(Also, if you need remixes of the music, I'm more than willing to do that for you! Keep up the good work!)

So will there be any new levels/bosses in this mod, or will it just be a faithful recreation of the original game?

I won't actually make any mod of this, this code is a bit too abstract for me to work with.

I wish Cave Story was held within the code instead of being held in external files.

I definitely like what I see, but can you make a build for linux ? Don't get me wrong, it does work in wine but the scaling is off... It shows only 1 quarter of the screen.
Or perhaps a resolution control ?
(this even happens in fullscreen, f4 four frogs)

Didn't game maker have a separate linux license because why would you not or was that just gms1.
