"I'm the first since 3 years ago (before you made your mod)" is a pretty shitty argument.

You weren't the first, and even if you were, you weren't being original. Just kind of weaboo-y. There is really no reason to have your title be in Japanese unless you're Japanese or unless you're planning on doing a Japanese release (or if you just want to show off how much of a weaboo you are).

 

Well think about this; (the PC version of) Cave Story has its program called "Doukutsu.Exe", so it kinda already had a Japanese title on it. So in a sense the original CS started it.

And the game was in Japanese
And the people who translated it didn't want to translate the .exe because that would be weird
But actually, I think that might actually have influenced it in some way, since the game does say on the title screen
"Cave Story
Doukutsu Monogatari"

You should specify which one, although I'll just go out on a limb here and guess you're not Japanese.

Also good luck fully translating a game/mod to Japanese. Believe me, it's not fun/easy.

I'm confused, the only one that has "Jenka no Akumu" in it is the third one, and it's the one that came after SS.
I believe Coffe was saying that his JNR thread was at one point titled "jenka no akumu: REVIVED"

Anyway... I'm going to have to agree with GIR here. I considered saying something last time this came up, but I withheld because I couldn't directly cite any mods that did this before SS even though I was almost sure there were some.

It's really very simple. The reason I called the demo topic Jenka no Akumu is to parrot the original game's subtitle of Doukutsu Monogatari. Jenka no Akumu is the subtitle of the game, not the full title. Ultimately, I'm just pulling a Recycled Title and calling it "Jenka's Nightmare" when I do the release topic in a week or two. Naming the topic "Jenka no Akumu" instead of "Jenka's Nightmare" was an attempt at making people realize it's a new version, and clearly that backfired spectacularly. I may as well just call it "Genesis and Oblivion's big day out" instead, but I'm sure it will get bumped to the 2nd page without a second glance anyway.

Incidentally we could probably do with a 'completed mods' subsection of the forum.

It was presumably added by Aeon Genesis so that English players could know what the Japanese title was, but could easily be mistaken for a subtitle. Goodness.
The stupid amounts of sarcasm, condescension, laziness and everything else in this thread makes it painful to read...I don't know why I bothered.
