So the concept of the thread is simple. Rate the favourite cutscene of the poster above from 1 to 10 and post your favourite cutscene for the guy below you to rate.

So I start with,

The dialogue before the Undead Core ("That's far enough" to "You're not leaving this place alive")

 

8/10 only because it takes so long when you want to get to the fight quickly...

My favorite?

I dislike the "You really want the mushroom badge", then its all ORLY and YARLY all the way. And when you see the mushroom badge, he is then like "LOLWUT IM EDIBLE BUT YOU CAN'T EAT ME RAWR TACKLE LOL"

My favourite cutscene? The one with Quote masturbating in the corner with Curly's underwear.

Oh wait, that happened in my dream, no wait, that happened in Cave Story hentai that I found by accident.

Favourite cutscene? Hmm. I'd say the one before Toroko+.

Yeah. And Sue's replies at the end of EC.

 

I'd give Kazuma and Sue's chatting a... solid 8/10 which is really pretty high. But it is kind of an ingenious way of quickly capturing the player's attention. Something they can quickly relate to, chat programs! Plus it starts up the plot.. who is Sue? And it utilizes humor...! Nice.

Of course each time you have to sit through those chat cutscenes after the first time; I decrease my score by 1 or 2 ... So now I adjust my score to a solid -145535/10

If I have to see Kazuma typing ONE MORE TIME...!!!! GRAH!!!!

How about the cutscene when Ballos dies... till just after Balrog saves your robotic skin from certain doom. [Not including the flying toaster cutscene]

EDIT: I don't think it's my favorite cutscene; but there was a great sense of accomplishment beating Ballos, and then that creepy stuff happened... And Balrog coming to the rescue!! It makes it a favorite of mine... but probably not my true favorite.

 

1/10 cause it made me feel sad for Ballos

How about... OH YES I LOVED THE CUTSCENE WHERE YOU MEET THE UNDEAD CORE.

From when you enter the map till when the boss battle starts.

LOVED THAT ONE. SO COOL LOL. I think... ._.

I recite it outloud, along with the other final-boss-trio cutscenes, every time I play. It's just so much fun P:

Undead Core is my ultimate fave too. And the Lastbattle theme does it great justice.

6/10. It was what lead to Toroko's death and the Doctor's plans progressing forward without fail (Then again, that was critical to the storyline...)

8/10. It gives the player a sense of relief to see Curly live, but if you leave her behind before fighting Ironhead, it's essentially a wasted effort because you don't see her later on in Plantation.


(There are too many memorable moments in Cave Story for me to pick a favorite, so...)

How about the cutscene from when Quote and Curly try to move the boulder out of the way to the beginning of the 4th (And last) battle with Balrog?

I always thought Sue's speech in Egg No. 0 was pretty funny.

How about the "was it a love letter" cutscene (whole jail scene including the "wake up" stuff")

I would give it higher, but waking up to chomp chomp as I call him, was kinda a bummer. I wanted to have another cutscene with Sue lol

The whole knocking on the head thing was funny, and the letter is nice and informative. But, it's chomp chomp...

How about, Kazuma and Quote's escape from the island ending cutscene? Does anyone actually like that one? lol
