3D Printed Quote Model

Hi, I'm making a Quote model and going to 3D print it on Shapeways for a friends birthday , and you can also purchase it too! (when its finished)
Before I compile everything I want opinions from the community to improve the model.

So far I haven't added the scarf or added detail to the clothing, but I'll do that later.

Update: new model? is it better? Eyes seems a bit off...

But my opinion is that you should make the head smaller and remove the lines under his eyes.

I got the details from this image

So thats where the large head and lines come from.
If the community doesn't like it, then I'll adjust the model

 

yeah, I agree about the head being smaller. I think the big head looks good in pixel art, but not in actual 3D. I never really liked cave story 3D's character models...

I reckon he looks best with this kind of build imho.

You want my honest opinion? Try tweaking the shape and size of the eyes to match that reference pic a little better, it looks good. You should also see how he looks with and without the nose, and pick whichever looks better.

Also the hat looks like a pillowy plushy hat but that's not such a big deal.

Did you actually import that reference picture into your 3D program?

He needs eyebrows.
And hair.
And an actual body.

Okay, I'll go for a more Runner 2 style, where it looks more humanoid. I'll start remodelling.
Luckily I came here before I submitted it

 

Looks like the Matt Smith of Quotes.
Personally, I think you might want to go off this design, (considering it's simplicity) but all the other designs work well too.

Perhaps make the nose a bit smaller too.
Other than that, looks real nice though.

Just two things...maybe consider only giving him the Polar Star to hold, or putting the Machine Gun in a holster somehow? The gun in each hand struck me as odd looking, for some reason.
Also, I think the smile he used to have doesn't fit him too well, so I'd recommend trying a little frown or a different smile...

The plan is in this order:
- texturing (i'll show a screenshot)
- optimising
- adding bones
- move the body into a more interesting position (i'll show a screenshot)
- add weapons, perhaps other items and effects
- 3D print

Hopefully the frown doesn't make him look like that figure Nicalis designed.

 

Wow I really like the second attempt, it will look awesome with bones. Give 'em a cool face this time.

 

This actually looks like it'd be a really awesome model! Something looks not quite right about his fringe though, I think the left should be lowered a bit or something like that. Also, his hand seem very slightly too small in proportion with his arms.

That hat is still very much off given that Quote's head isn't inside it. Just push it down an inch or two.
