So, I was bored and made a cave story hack. it features a small side room that will give you all the items in the game. along with a tiny little secret in the "Cheat room".

Cheat Story 2.0.

Thanks to

Bombchu Link (me)
GIZakaCHEEZER (for the idea/song)
Noxid (for the animated tiles)
HaydenStudios (for the curly sprite.)

Not to seem harsh but there isn't really need for a mod like this considering you could just use something like Save Editor to get the exact same result.

Yeah, I know but just giving items is a bit meh, you can do small edits whilst making something interesting, an example being having dialogue changes or a few hidden side rooms or challenge maps. I am in no way saying Bombchu shouldn't be doing small edits and actually being smart about modding instead of going in with some overly complicated mod that is over ambitious, but you don't have to release everything you do, I have about 4 small mods that are all unreleased because I just used them to practice.

I added a little extra something. . . see for yourself
I will check it out :)

I should have recorded my reaction...

Pretty cute xD
I couldn't help but chuckle and smile. CHEATER?! NO WAY!

Short and sweet stuff like this would make an awesome webcomic-like series.
Though there's bound to be someone who might download it actually wanting to cheat...
#$@#$#@$@ WHAT IS THIS!?

Okay... but Winrar overhauls the original process of extracting, adding new tabs to touch around with. I've also have a filed complaint about 7-zip as well, it's setting don't save. Check the .001 box for use of extracting said files, apply, nothing has changed. Anyway, I've got a program lurking in my Programs (64x) file that extracts files with such extensions, it's some sort of Lightning bolt thing...? Well, now that it's fixed, I suppose this post is considered rather self-inducing.

@Cheat Story,
Nice reference to Sonic, uses already composed music for another purpose than a gameover tone.

Considering the large number of save editors, trainers, CS editors, and manual save hacking guides out there I don't really see the point, but power to you I guess.

I agree with you 100%.
Ultimate Doukutsu Trainer can do all that, plus the ability to lock levels, give you any item in the game, and give you invincibility, infinite ammo, and infinite booster juice.

Unless some people would rather use a side room inside your CS mod that doesn't give you every cheat possible.
