Kanpachi. Obviously.

Maybe the hermit gunsmith? Not having a facepic implies unimportance altogether, so this is a bit hard.

Dr. Gero?
Or perhaps Arthur.

Also, Jack was useless and he got a facepic, so...

Maybe Jack was supposed to be important, but got edited out eventually.

No love for the possessed door? He's your first mandatory kill, forever marking you as a murderer, destroying your hopes of a pacifist run within the first few minutes of gameplay...

In all seriousness though I'd go with Chaco like TP said. That, or I just like Chaco and wish she had one. Maybe I'll give them both a faceset when I find the free time...

It has to be the Cthulthu. They appear so many times in Cave story and by having a face pic it couldn't have given us a better hint to who the cthulthu are. But a proper character - the hermit

Gotta give this to chinfish, or the tiny people you meet outside the egg corridor.
I always imagined the guy that gives you the nemesis to have an incredibly manly face.

The Cthulhu are pretty mysterious characters in themselves. The absence of a face-pic adds to it.

This is an interesting question. There were many important faceless characters, but their significance quickly faded away as the game progressed (like King). The way I see it, a character who comes up both in the beginning and the end should get the vote. In this case, the lonely Hermit.

Ah, but someone has made the point of the cthulhu being with you throughout the entire game, where you only ever see the hermit twice.

That guy must be bored out of his mind.
Probabley his fault, he never really has anything interesting to say.

I agree with Kick-Ass, it's Cthulhu. You talk to them quite a few times, and the one looking after Curly is pretty important to the story. Plus you can't tell what his face is supposed to look like.

The Cthulthu tell you so much information about the island and about the power of the demon crown etc... I guess the only problem with doing a face picture of them is that they could each be different? Lots of people seem to say that they are human so then they would all look slightly different right? But not having a facepic of them, I guess, just adds to the mysterious where-abouts. (Edit: Oh Pigaro said that as well)

But the point of the Cthulhu is that they're mysterious. Wouldn't showing their faces be kind of gay?
