The First Annual Kanpachis

I suggested annual awards for forum members in IRC. Everyone was interested in the idea, and also said it would fail. Those guys are dicks. Prove them wrong?

So yes, we're big enough to recognize members for their excellence or complete failure, so I think we should have awards. The name "Kanpachis" doesn't have to stay, but it's catchy and unique to our forums. Now, these aren't going to be "Best Person Who Is Great And Popular" because that's just going to start fights (and, judging by IRC, Noxid would win anyway). Awards would be more along the lines of "Best Ragequit" and "Most Improved."

On this thread you should make suggestions for awards categories. Try to refrain from discussing who should win them here, since that will influence voting and derail the thread. Once we get all the categories, we'll open up voting. A few trusted members of the community, like whyme and I, will be the ballot boxes. You PM your votes to us, we tally them up, and boom we've got an awards show on our hands.

Voting is not mandatory, because some mods are too chickenshit to ban people for not voting, but it'll be fun, so you should do it. It's not like getting "Best Ragequit" is a huge honor anyway, so don't feel like you're going to cause drama.

Now seriously, we don't know who should count votes, so volunteer if you have the time. Veto process will probably be like "Are you going to fux with the votes. Please answer honestly."

 

I wish to count the votes. As I said, I'm "trustworthy" and "have the time" to do it.

Also, this isn't fail.

 

I guess it depends on how much everyone else trusts you. As I said in IRC, I'd volunteer but people here wouldn't trust their pet snail with me.

Just to clarify, these are forum awards. The idea was conceived on IRC. Sorry for the confusion.

On a forum full of fourteen year old boys, maybe that's not such a grand idea.

@Malpercio: Stuff like "best signature" would be very difficult to do, because user profiles change constantly, and no record is kept of them. During 2011, if you want, you can record avatars/sigs/locations/titles/goatse that you want to nominate, so that we can have this category next year.
