The premise of this is simple; we start out with a song, and then we add to it. The rules are generally as follows and subject to change as need be:
1) you can only add 8 measures at a time
2) you shouldn't significantly change any part of the song that has already been written EXCEPT the last measure, which you can modify to lead into your bit better if you need to.
3) When adding to a song, you should try your best to keep with the original feel of the piece.
4) The first person to say they want a turn on a song gets it; everyone else has to wait until that person is done their segment. If they take longer than 4 days, they can have their turn taken from them.
5) The song is finished when it sounds finished. It can be a loop or not, doesn't matter.
I have a feeling this might be a flop, but you never know... anyways, I've got two pieces we can start out with, each with a different sort of feel to them. Finally, not to sound uh, condescending or anything, but it's important that if you're going to claim a song you actually have some experience in making ORG music.
EDIT: It's too hard to keep up with all the iterations, just read from back to front to find the most recent versions of each song [there are four; Garrity, Doodly, and Phenylalanine and Electica]
Also I thought it would be best if we used standard drum instruments so that if anyone wanted to use these group-made ORGs in their mods they could. Just so you know, they won't be used in my mod, or if they are I'll just start and write the whole thing myself from the first whatever measures I have there. This is intended to just be a fun thing.
Final note: rule #2 is somewhat lax, if you've got a great idea then by all means go for it. I didn't add any percussion to either of those, so that might be something you could do.
