Ballos's Dog

I have no clue if we have a had a whole thread for this topic so here we go.
Just who is the dog you meet before balloss.
I thought balloss was mad and he would of probably killed his dog. The dog looks like a ghost in the game.

What are your views on it?

Who is the dog?
Where is he from?
Is he releated to jenkas dogs?

 

For the sake of not referring to it as 'the dog', can we call him/her Sparkles?

Eheh, what if it's the King that tortured Ballos so long ago, forcing him to unleash his powers and destroy the entire kingdom and his own mind?
It would be a fitting punishment, kept as the slave of the one he grew so jealous of, in the form of a dog.

There's really almost nothing to go on, so we're just guessing here.
Though I'm surprised Pixel made it a dog and not a cat, considering his affection towards felines.
Maybe it's the same reason for the Red Demon and such graphics, he was just to lazy to make a new one

 

The dog is a manifestation of the very last remnants of his sanity. In case you hadn't noticed, the dog's plea is very similar to Ballos, in that Ballos is subject to his magic.

Where he came from is whatever kingdom he used to serve.

I sincerely doubt he has ANY relation at all to Jenka's dogs.

 

What if the dogs are more like familiars, and Balrog is Misery's familiar?

Case re-opened: I like the idea of Sparkles the Vampire Puppy being the ancient king, as being enslaved as Ballos's pet would suck, but it may also be a shard of Ballos's mind, as discussed in the other puppy topic. In summation, thread is redundant.
