The robots in the core chamber?

Has anyone else wondered what the robots in the core chamber were doing there?

I think that they were actually with Quote and Curly. Because Curly said that they were sent to the island to destroy the power unlike the other robots trying to harness it. Because why would robots that were trying to get the demon crown destroy the core that kept the island with the demon crown and it's creator afloat? But this raises another question, if these robots were destroyed(except for that one that kick-started the core's defense) then how did Quote and Curly survive?

They could have been protecting it, or trying to destroy it.

But they were not Quote and Curly.

Well, they could've been dispatched as a group with Quote and Curly and they force made to the core but the core owned them but Quote and Curly somehow survive, and then it gets to the start of the game. At least that's what I think happens. It seems to make sense.

Well I have an excerpt of the script that I found in the Veflaxia FAQ. Here

Curly: Look.
Curly: This is a soldier from the surface.
Curly: It's all banged up.
Curly: There's a ton more like it, too.
Curly: What on earth could've...
Curly: Not a Mimiga. No, to do this much damage...
Curly: !!!
The robot Curly is standing by starts flashing.
Curly: It's still alive!!
Robot: *Bzzbzbzztbz*

Robot: FAILED TO DESTROY TARGET
Robot: CURRENT FORCES INSUFFICIENT

I am a hundred percent sure that is word for word. But after re-looking this text I notice that the robot refers to a team that failed to destroy a target, and the only thing in the room worth destroying would be the core, the core hearing something started it's defense mechanism and attacked Quote and Curly. And with the robot saying retreat could've meant it said it before and that it was in a previous fight with the Core that Quote and Curly were able to retreat. And it looks as though the robot might have activated at the sight of Curly if they really were on a team to destroy the core. And one last thing in this post, I think it might explain the start point, the waterway led to the mimiga village when you go through it right? Well maybe there was another place where the waterway ended and that was the start point, so instead of taking a path to the mimiga village, Quote ending up in the Start point, how Curly got to the Sand Zone I'm not sure.

Logic would suggest that Team 9 was sent as a backup to take out the Core (to take out the island) if the primary team (Curly and Quote) failed to destroy the Demon Crown. It could've just been that the Cores power had been underestmated.

But destroying the core would in turn destroy the demon crown, Ballos would most likely die and the crown would be destroyed. And it sounds like you think that Quote and Curly were the only ones who were different. But Curly didn't say that they were the only ones different from the killer robots, she just said that they were different.

How do you know it was only them? It possible that there were other robots made to destroy the power as well, Curly said that she and Quote were different, but not the only ones that were different, I mean, why would you only make two robots to fight someone with ultimate power and robots trying to get the power?

MS is right. The robot teams were sent to retrieve the crown for the governments and were most likely led by Miakid.. until he stole the crown for himself. Quote and Curly were sent with the counter-mission of destroying the crown.

No, Quote and Curly were not with Team 9. It's true Curly had some idea of what could do that much damage, but she was most likely not thinking of the Core. I'd guess she could have been thinking of Miakid himself.

Even if she lost her memory, why would the other robots attack her?

Because they were not apart of the same team....
Or probably government, for that matter...

1. She remembers "killer robots"
2. She recognized Quote as a robot.
3. She wants to protect ~~her children~~ the Korons.
Hence, she attacks Quote even though he means no harm. Pretty simple.
