first off i bet your shocked that i actually made a cave story related thread.

secondly, what if ballos was behind everything...like he knew what was going to happen before it happened. i explan if the thread keeps going....and no one had better piss me off either.

The guy was tortured by a king for using his powers to help people because the respect of the people towards him became a threat to the king's rule. So he was tortured until he went insane, let his power loose, and turned the kingdom, plus everyone he knew and loved ('sides Jenka), into ashes. Then Jenka trapped him in a solitary room on a floating island for hundreds of years. Fun, no?

Basically Ballos' master plan is either "free self" or "kill self". His magic won't let him die, and Jenka won't let him leave.

 

and im willing to bet the he reactivated quote because he knew that he was the only one that could destroy the core causing the island to be destroyed and freeing him from his chamber.

His powers lack the influence under Jenka's seal to activate Quote, else he would have been free from the island ages ago.

Though basically his main desire was to kill himself, freeing himself was his "Plan B".

His powers didn't have enough influence to reactivate (not to mention memory-wipe) a robot, but they had enough to make the island fall down?

 

Alright hang on a second. yes if ballos could have reactivated quote he would have been freed sooner...but that is why he memorized everything that would happen.

 

No, he wouldn't have been freed at all without Quote. The first time through, most people don't even go to Hell with Quote, so he would have about a 1/3 chance of even being freed.

Meaning the chances are actually lower than 1/3. Ballos would not take such risks as dieing if he wished to be freed.

Do you even know the story behind Ballos? You seem a bit clueless.

The spell or whatever Jenka put in place that confined Ballos to the "Seal Chamber" for the last several hundred years or so.

His powers didn't have that sort of influence until after the core was defeated. Else the island would've hit the ground hundreds of years ago.

 

I think the general consensus here is that the core is a major part of the seal.
