Kings Blade

- Where did he find the blade in the first place? As far as I know, there are no shops other than that one in the Labyrinth in Cave Story, but yet, King was probably never down there.

- Why is his soul encased in the blade? I know he loved that blade, but putting his soul in it...?

- Why is it more powerful at level 2 than level 3?

 

-doesn't it feel a bit like, Arthur left it for him?

-Level 3 is actually more powerful. It's auto-multi-targeted, locks the target by a split second, which is something (maybe I'm making things up) and has a higher range than Level 2, plus the multi direction effects just now, so it is most powerful most of the time. Just that you're too concerned about bosses that it feels less powerful. I think




And I'm not really confident of my points up here, like some might be acceptable and some not, like point 1 and 2 surely can't be simultaneously correct.

 

Where does anyone get anything? Clearly, there were other businesses and a functioning economy before the doctor got there and started kidnapping or killing everyone.

As for why his soul appears in the blade, he entrusted it to you avenge his death and that of Toroko, with his dying breath. Why shouldn't it carry a symbolic piece of him?

As for why level 2 is (arguably) more powerful, that's not a plot thing, that's an oversight in gameplay balancing.

even odinese the language is hard enough forget odinese literature

but oh well super missles is slow u know like i can shoot blade 2 5 times but missles only 1 time never finish chasing the missing of the screen opponent

 

i think if arthur gave it to him, if he wanted you to avenge him (king) his spirit could still be in it.

Actually it is because lvl2 is more powerful spammed at close range but isn't all that powerful at long range, and is only good against one enemy. Blade lvl3 works efficiently at both short and long range and against multiple targets, but doesn't pull off as much damage per second as the lvl2 blade spammed at close range. Blade lvl1 has the longest range but lacks the power of the lvl2 and lvl3 blades.

So if it is multiple targets, then use the lvl3 blade, else use the lvl2 blade at close range.

There were probably shops around before the Doctor invaded.

I think when he died, his sprite vanished and was replaced by the Blade.

Maybe he became the Blade! Or he probably infused the Blade with his soul.

Because King can get pushed down easily by Toroko.
