Balrog being a toaster, is very popular.
But personally looking better to his back, and with those brown stripes, i really thing he is more of a suitcase :p

And his name just scream "baggage" in my subconscious.

What you think? XD

Balrog is a robot. Just like Malco is a robot, not as advanced a physical build though, but who knows when Balrog actually met Misery.

I think the toaster thing became popular after someone made his/her toaster look like Balrog. He looked more like a TV to me when I first played.

Actually I think it's his arms that make him look so Toaster like.
But I like to think of him as something from another world rather than an animated object..

I agree that he honestly looks most like a TV... but calling him a toaster is so much more fun.

Meh, he's just a robot shaped like a box. Everyone knows who you're talking about when you say "toaster", though, which is convenient.

Why does it matter what he looks like? He is one of the earlier robots so he looks lame.

Well just to throw this in the mix, you know Balrog is the name of a Tolkien monster. Just like the island natives; Chthulu? What's up with that?

Coincidence? I bet Pixel has never read Tolkien or Lovecraft.

Huh? I don't think you can just coincidentally make up a name like Chthulu! Possibly he'd heard the name and didn't know what it was....but that doesn't strike me as something he'd do though. I think he knew the original meaning and reused the names, whether there's some hidden meaning behind it I don't know.

I didn't mean he coincidentally made up the names, just that he used them without really knowing exactly what they were.

No, he doesn't. Balrogs are tall shadowy fiery creatures from Tolkien. Balrog looks nothing like that. ;)

Point taken. But his name is Balrog, so that is who I was referring to him.
