That's not true. Mods can be successful just because people enjoy playing them.

Bombchu Link said himself "I don't really do earth shattering discoveries, I just stand on the shoulders of giants.".
If you're writing Minecraft mods, you can use Minecraft Forge, which is a modding API. Cave Story doesn't have that.
And the only programming language that you need to know to make Minecraft mods is Java, so it's a lot easier.

Are you referring to me? I do remember saying I have interest into continuing Sue's Story. That is, if I could get some other stuff out of the way first and get motivated to do some modding.

Sadly, this mod was one of the many reasons I joined the forum. I wish someone would pull a Jenka's Nightmare on this and complete it. It was the first CS mod I ever played.
