I'm sure most of you have seen Fahrenheit's Cave Story - Azarashi crossover picture. For those who haven't...

Well, I thought that it was such a cool idea that I just had to make it a reality! Luckily, Fahrenheit was gracious enough to do the ALL the artwork for me, so much Kudos to him!

What's changed:

Pretty much all the graphics.
The music
The backgrounds (3!)
Also, this version runs windowed

So, give it a try!

Thanks for making this windowed, if it's no trouble, would you do that to Azarashi as well? Or has that been done too?

Actually, you can download version 1.4 from pixel's website, which is windowed (And he changed the format for the background graphics from a pallete swap to three seperate files)

The title screen's japanese, but I doubt that will hinder anybody.

Heh, this a pretty original idea. Making a mod that's simply TSC script. I'm not sure if anyone's thought of this on the forums. Not even Noxid, that sly bastard!!

Is it possible to change sounds?
Quote sounds like a seal if you let him fall.

I love the text on his hat too!

Actually I never worked out in the original game what it meant when you got the cat instead of the seal on the hook. Does it make a difference to your game or is it just a random extra?

I could, but I'd need a .wav sound to replace it with. I'd gladly do it if someone comes up with a more suitable sfx.

And the cat is just a random thing that may appear if your high score is above a certain amount. In the edited version, it's Curly.

edit @Trickybilly: All in the same game, t'would be rather difficult, since it would involve heavy assembly hacks and azarashi is undocumented.
In a different version, it would be a trivial matter if the sprites were done for it. My biggest task with this hack was aligning the sprites and redrawing the outlines.
