I love the Stage Mode. It only lacks a storyline, but the fun in pwning is awesome.
Although I always kinda cheat picking Rudolf and multiplying till the screen has 30+ samurai.
In FFA though Deep is l33t.

I should really go install some custom characters by others. :/
They are mostly overpowered though, like Super Duper Firzen EX, infinite MP by default. The Overwhelming Disaster has the fire explodes into Firen's Explosion and the ice into Freeze's Whirlwind. How badass is that. And Firzen Cannon is freaking more epic, only graphically, seeing as you use two large waist cannons. Arctic Volcano, same as before, but with Overwhelming Disaster's effects. Damn, should really search for it.
There's still Julizen, a combination of Julian and Firzen. Can't get any more epic than that
And there was this Julian edit I forgot the name. ): But he can shoot multiple Soul Bombs

If you're looking for overpowered characters, try looking for R-Lf2.
All the players have about equal strength (except for the special charactes
) and I suspect they all have extra HP. Each character has his "hell move" which all have awesome effects.
Even bandits and h00nters have special moves, but they're still much weaker coz the normal and special characters all have uber-enhanced attacks.
You should try it, it's pretty fun too.

The Stage Mode woulda been fun if they hadn't made it so long. And that's the only thing relatively worth playing in it.
It's fun for a bit but gets boring quickly unless you've never played LF2 :/
