I think this is actually a trick question. But what is your opinion of Misery's hair? Is it blue? Posted Image

Fan art seems to color it both ways... Some blue, most green...

Blue to me seems to me to be a more depressing color, so that's what I'll go with.

Then again all humans in Cave story have green hair, so...

Booster's is white!

I guess Curly's doesn't count...

I think the consistent green was to keep the color count down for the face.pbm file. I'd say blue because green hair and green clothes... eh.

personally I think that face.pbm was not an issue since it used 256 colours. The .pbm files used for the sprites are limited to 16 colours and if I recall it contained a lot of sprites.

Her hair colour is green.

Eh? I don't think any of the files approached 256 or are limited to 16... face.pbm seems to be 103, whereas npcguest.pbm is like 49 or something. It's just with indexed color fewer colors means smaller filesize which is always nice. I really wish we knew why Pixel did Misery's hair blue in the sprite but green in the portrait...

Her hair is quite obviously orange, what are you guys talking about? :p
But yeah, green.

Aaaaaaaagh I never even noticed that before! Although it's not that rare in sprite-based games. But yeah, it was probably blue due to colour limitations, and that maybe he didn't like the way it looked using the green in the .pbm .
