an explosive in a backpack? also, how come balrog didn't smush all Quote's current belongings when he landed on him (after Toroko battle)? I mean, Malco (the robot guy) got pounded in the ground. But that comment bout quote made of stronger metals is accurate. But I mean, I wouldn't want to play half the game as some dude with a deformed head.

A sprinkler?

i think it's plain luck that Quote woke up with a backpack.
Wait... he's not even wearing one!(when you press down, he turns around and no backpack, and even if there was one, how would it fit a sprinkler and 100 missles?) So he probably doesn't even have a backpack/bag.

EDIT: USER WAS WARNED FOR TRIPLE POSTING
EDIT: GIR made this edit and then I made a silly

Lets compare some of the items to Quote
Posted Image
Most of these items are either
A.Large as Quote or
B.Larger than Quote.

@milakna:
Titanium(On of the possible materials Quote could be made of) has a tinsel strength of up to 63,000 PSI. Meaning Balrog must exert a force of over 50,000 pounds on EVERY SINGLE SQUARE INCH of Quote to cause damage.

Because it's a video game and it's easier to see them that size, instead of being realistic and making each item small.

Wild Desu has a point. For example, Quote's sprite has his head being almost as big as his body, but really he has the same bodily proportions as a 10/11-year-old boy as shown in the credit art illustrations. And yeah, his Cave Story 3D model really bugs me with his head being bigger than his entire body.

Of course they are shown to be as big as Quote, It'd be hard to find a pickup that's made up of only 1-3 pixels.

Look at the size of the launcher, then the missile pickups and understand that pickups are not to scale, same for the inventory items on the inventory screen.

I guess that's because whoever made him had to cram:
  • A very powerful(more powerful that mordern super computers) CPU
  • Logic systems
  • Some form of memory
  • RAM
  • optics of some sort
  • Those radio antennae
Into such a small place.

But Quote didn't have an oversized head in the illustrations.
