Lately I've been pondering something... when we fight the Doctor at the King's Table which powers, out of those he uses against us, has he just gained thanks to the Red Crystal and which ones did he already have thanks to the Crown?

Thoughout the battle, the Crystal just floats around and occasionally collides with Quote or acts as a shield.
But given how the Doctor wanted to lecture us about it, the Crystal must be doing more than just that, right?
One could be tempted to attribute all red colored attacks to it... but those are ALL of the attacks (other than dashing and punching once the power runs wild). Furthermore, the Crown also has a connection to the red flower (giving control over the frenzied Mimigas), the substance of which the Crystal is made of. So the red color is not a valid indicator.

The only powers the Doctor displayed before the fight (apart from being able to control enraged Mimigas, Misery and Balrog) are flight and teleportation... but surely, he must also have had some powerful attacks to take down Arthur, right? (I believe the thunder that strikes down King came from Misery, but I could be mistaken).

What does everybody think of the matter?

I think the spirally attack was something he was able to do before since he did it so easily. I think the Red Crystal just made it stronger and easier to preform. The attack where he floats in the air and ejects a lot of red energy spheres wouldn't have been possible without the Red Crystal. I mean, look at his face when he is doing that. It is taking a lot of effort from him to do that.

Overall I think the Red Crystal just made the Demon Crown's powers stronger.

Sounds good to me. I take it then that you attribute everything he does in "muscle form" (and the form itself) to the Red Crystal, right?

His muscle form would be the Red Crystal's powers overtaking the Demon Crown's and forcing him into that form. Most of the powers in that form come from the Red Crystal but the Demon Crown is still on him, so he is still drawing power from that. But in his Muscle Form the Red Crystal is the dominant force, contrary to his normal form where the Demon Crown is the dominant force.

Makes sense yes.

So to summarize: in the first form he has the same powers the crown would normally bestow on him, increased by the red crystal.
In the second form it's all the red crystal made all the more effective by the fact he still has the crown.

Thanks, I do believe we've got it figured out now :)

This does make sense. But what doesn't is why Misery made Ballos make the Demon Crown in the first place. But that's off-topic, I assume.

Misery looks to be the runt of the family in terms of magic, so she likely intended the crown as a way for her to control Ballos' magic to supplant her own. Of course this ultimately backfired on Misery.

Okay. Then the only senseless thing I can think of is where Balrog came from? My theory is that he's probably summoned by Misery as her familiar, and thus got cursed himself without planning to. However, this may be incorrect, since after Ballos dies, Balrog comes to save Quote and Curly, and lives with them in the end, so I dunno what now. Wonder what would happen if it DIDN'T backfire? Maybe she'd take over the island and eventually Earth? Anything is possible...

Balrog is the most random character.
He is obviously just Pixel being creative.
But if you're not satisfied then you can say he's Misery's familiar.
Or maybe even Jenka's.

My theory is that the Doctor is aware the Red Crystal is a dangerous object that could control his mind.
The Demon Crown have influence on Misery, Balrog and the red-infected minions.

I'd like to believe that the Doctor was originally weak, and he managed to float around thanks to Misery.

Well, he doesn't know about the cursed form, or is that related to the Crown?
