I'm currently going to make a Pokemon Hack of Cave Story.

Three Starters (Or Trading your Polar Star into a:)

Machine Gun = Squirtle
Snake = Charmander
Spur = Bulbasaur

Regular Pokemons:

I would think that cubone and marowak would work better for the skulls. Actually, a lot of different pokemon may fit. Are you going for appearance or are you just trying to do common pokemon you encounter?

I remember I had this idea a while back.
I was going to enlarge the weapon sprites and make them look like pkmn.
You would only get your "weapons" in a special arena, and your character would be invisible.

If you want to, you can use this idea, and I'll post more of the details.

I may be new to the forums, but a Cave Story Pokémon mod? Sounds unbelievably awesome. Of course, this also means there's no Ice Beam-firing Pikachu... but that is possible through cheating in the games. But I noticed that only the Kanto Pokémon are included. So, the Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova region Pokémon aren't going to be in this mod, I guess, but anything is possible. Who knows, they may be super rare (just like encountering Emolga in the White Forest of Pokémon White is rare).
