[Wild Desu]

I got into this game before I even knew everyone was so wacky about it. I actually was browsing the four hams and saw Kage post about it in like, 2009. I saw a character sheet on gurochan way before that and thought "Hey, why not?". I played it for a bit and then got distracted, until you came and told me I gotta play it. Then I just suggested it to Fab and sexpy and....wow.

And I honestly do enloy it. But I am usually one to experience hype aversion, so I wonder if I would even try or enjoy it if I knew it was so overhyped?

I gave in and watched MLP while it was super overhyped and I sort of enjoyed it. I've had curiosity about Homestuck but it seems tl;dr for me.

I'm just rambling..but I wonder if I would have reacted differently? And this is sorta the first time I've been really into something that's been overhyped. Not sure if Touhou counts, I'm not too into the games at all. And it's also the first time that seeing hype-aversion has made me noticeably upset.

If you don't play it, that's your business, but I think that maybe getting out of your shell and trying something your friends like would result in you enjoying yourself :3
I mean, what's the worst that could happen? You could play a game for an hour, hate it, uninstall it, and sleep peacefully with the certainty that you're not missing out. I'd say that's a pretty fair deal

I already know far more than I want to about this type of thing, and the hype isn't matching up with the details. I also seriously begin to worry whenever someone is criticised for approaching something with a neutral mindset Think I'll remain ignorant and remain happier for it.

I heard about this when it popped up on ModdB a month or so ago. I haven't played it yet, but might. My religious sensibilities might be soothed by the non-eroge mode.

Ehh.
The sex scenes aren't really the focus of the game. I'd say you're missing something if you turn them off though, so I guess you've reached a dilemma.
My atheist sensibilities weren't soothed on when I played it, so I think you'll be fine.

I rember playing... um... Ah, Tsukihime, the classic Type-Moon visual novel. The team who reverse engineered a translation had a member who loved the franchise, but not the shagging. So he set up a sub-team who worked hard to fudge the script for a non-hentai version. They did a pretty good job. I just can't enjoy a game that treats semi-consensual butt-sex as a plot point, pixelated or not.

This game has cut out the middleman. Not everyone wants to expose their brains to pornography. So they've made it optional. For something spawned in the bowels of 4chan, it's amazingly sensitive.

...once again, 4chan didn't make this. It was suggested on 4chan, but that doesn't mean that every asshole on /b/ had their input. People really need to learn how to Internet sometimes >:T
And also, it was suggested on /a/ anyway, which is generally not a bowel of anything...
