I recently partook in Steam's big ol' Holiday sale. Among the delicious deals I consumed was Cave Story+.
I'd never played Cave Story before, so I decided to watch the trailer provided by Steam. Oh my god, I was in love! The music in particular is what swayed me to click "BUY" as fast as I could.
However, once the game was installed and I began playing, I noticed the music was different than what I had heard in Steam's trailer.
I've played with the different music options (Original, Remastered and New) and none of them are the music that I heard in the trailer video.
Is this a really specific version of the music created independently or something? Where can I get the music I'm hearing in their trailer? (the main theme)
Here's a Link to the trailer on Steam, for your convenience and so you can see what I mean.
Steam trailer music is different?

The first track of the trailer is from the WiiWare version in the Channel Menu and does not appear in any other part of the game, and the other is one of the two songs for the Last Cave, with this one being done by k-wix (and the other being done by Danny B.). You are right with the music being different, but it still exists. I'm not sure who did this song, but it shares a striking resemblance to one of the remixes to the first remix project.

Actually, the Wii Menu remix of the Cave Story Theme is a remix done by tumult, I've actually had it on my iPod for a few years,
Google it, I'm sure you'll find it quick enough.
Huh, I googled it, and apparently it's the remix done for the Cave Story Remix Project, found here:

So apparently, you can't download each song individually anymore, which was nice.
But it's in there, rest assured.

Sounds good.
Wish having those was an option in Cave Story+.

Wow, I cannot thank you enough, all of you, with special kudos to cultr1 for going that extra mile and practically handing it to me.
I did a lot of hunting around before I asked about this on here, but every version I found wasn't the right one. I would have never thought the official trailer would feature music from an independent remix project that isn't even in the actual game, so any time I saw "remix" I avoided it.
I really appreciate your responses, you've made me grin ear to ear this day. Thank you!

no problem :3
If only all new members were as awesome as you.
Honestly, when I heard that remix on the Wii version title menu, I was just as put off, or more.
I'm fairly certain they had no right to do that. Then again, it was a short sample, so maybe it was doable.

I'm pretty sure they got the permission of the original remixer and put his name in the credits. Not entirely sure though since it's a lot of effort to go and see if it's true.no problem :3

That's just what I heard from Nicalis.
