No. No guys. The purpose of this is not to filter out people who do not know everything about Cave Story. It's to stop spambots from joining and to emphasize that people should be familiar with Cave Story. Don't suggest anything that can't be answered by playing Cave Story for 15 minutes last August.

I wasn't trying to. I put both correct and incorrect spellings as correct answers, didn't I? :hoppy:

I thought my questions were fairly simple. Why not mix complex ones with generic ones, and have a refresh button? That would stump spambots.

We should have an invisible field that you can't see in a browser along the lines of "Fill this in if you're a machine" and if a spambot submits data for it then reject the registration :debug:
I dunno if you can actually do that but eh...

Very much this.

You could in any other scenario, but it is not feasible for forum software since any spambot specifically targeting IPB forums will ignore it.

Fill in the blank:
Cave ____.

Also, have you considered using one of those neato picture things? It'll just have a little drawing of a cat or something, and it will ask "what animal is this?" Because Spambots and Heuristics don't mix.
We could do it with a Mimiga or something if you really want it Cave Story related.

Those are both good ideas IMO.

Perhaps one query could be along the lines of "Cave Story is present on many platforms. Name one of the platforms you can play Cave Story on." Correct answers would be Wii/WiiWare, DSi/DSiWare, PC, Steam, Mac, 3DS/Nintendo 3DS, PSP, Linux etc.

I think Cave Story is quite capable of giving you mental issues. Just look at some of our fine members on the forum.
