i just figured this out today in the original cave story
right click>show package contents> Resources > Data
i recommend you make a copy of your original game the do this\
Next delete MyChar.pbm then copy a npc.pbm from the Npc folder put it where the MyChar.pbm was and rename it MyChar.pbm now i can play as a mimiga some sprites will be off just get a new one

or at least i dont know how to give me some credit im 15 any ways i was able to get sue,misery,and some random mimiga from sandzone when you meat curly
i think im doing this wrong i take a pbm convert it into a png crop so i get the sprite i want then i put it convert it back to pbm the name it mychar and then the game doesn't work but at least i got the basics ^_^
but if you do know what im doing wrong please tell me
