I think the reason is that pools don't have use in THIS forum. That means, we don't use it, because we don't have a subject for them.
EDIT: vBulletin bug? You should post more and more and more until get 5,000 pots at least.

Nobody has 5,000 posts (or pots, for that matter) on this entire forum and I'm pretty sure that won't fix it either.

I think polls would be a good idea, and on some topics could be rather helpful.
However, new members (specifically younger members, or rather immature older ones) may take advantage of the opportunity and add polls to every single thread they create. If polls were implemented, I think it would be wise that they are affected by a new rule, one similar to the "no excessive similies" rule; limiting their use. If you aren't too keen on that idea, possibly polls could only be created in some areas of the forum (I think the S.P.O.T. can manage without polls).

I think Cave Story is quite capable of giving you mental issues. Just look at some of our fine members on the forum.

Regular users can make polls in all forums except those in the "General" section, like this one and the Sat Lounge. That should probably be fixed in case someone wants to make a poll in there some day.
