A new game coming out on may 16th

<taken from the site>

Dig, fight, explore, build! Nothing is impossible in this action-packed adventure game. The world is your canvas and the ground itself is your paint.

Grab your tools and go! You can do many things in Terraria: make weapons and fight off a variety of enemies in numerous biomes, dig deep underground to find accessories, money, and other useful things, gather wood, stone, ores, and other resources to create everything you need to make the world your own and defend it. Build a house, a fort, even a castle, and people will move in to live there and perhaps even sell you different wares to assist you on your journey. But beware, there are even more challenges awaiting you... Are you up to the task?

</taken>

I guess it could be seen as somekind of 2d minecraft, with it being alot more combat oriented, with bossfights, 20+ weapons(i think), and gameplay elements being used from different games. Upgrading your characters health and mana, so it has rpg elements too.

i've been following this for the past 2 weeks, and it looks awesome, now get excited as me :sun:

Oh hey I've heard of this. If it's 2D I might give it a try and actually get hooked :sun:

I've been following this game for quite a while now.
In theory, this should be my favourite game ever.

I think it's a bit unfair to refer to it as a 2D Minecraft however. It seems like that's the most common reaction, and it seems to be because Mining and Crafting make up part of the game-play. I think I will enjoy this much more, given it has more focus on the action side of things.

It sounds like it has more game (story, bosses, weapons) and less building elements.

Which sounds like a good balance.

It looks like the threeway lovechild of Minecraft, Spelunky, and Final Fantasy. Yep, I'm bookmarking this for a rainy day.
I sprite! On a whim. Sometimes I do requests. I'm currently 'working' on my Flipped Races project.

Games I have contributed to:
Misery Story, by LunarSoul
Jenka's Nightmare, by LunarSoul
King: Strife and Sacrifice, by Noxid
Community Deity Project
Probably a few others I've forgotten

Looks interesting-- is it free?

Edit:

Taken from site:

Terraria will cost $9.99 for at least it's first week of release

I think Cave Story is quite capable of giving you mental issues. Just look at some of our fine members on the forum.
