#CurlyBrace: An IRC Solution!

In case you IRC users haven't noticed, it seems as if every day there is a large fight/battle/flamewar on #doukutsu, and the admins never seemed to do anything about it.
A few users and I, who just wanted to have a normal chatroom, decided a new, moderated channel would prevent this from occurring.
So that's what we did.
I present #CurlyBrace, the flamewar-free chatroom!
http://www.esper.net/publicirc.php Just type #CurlyBrace (not case sensitive) into the text box to join.

A rule:

Don't be a dick unless we like you.

Seriously this shouldn't be mega hard to follow, and it shouldn't be too hard to uphold. Just don't piss everyone off and it's chill.

What was wrong with the other channel? I dont go there as often as i should but it doesnt get that out of hand right? You know people will just end up either going to just the #doukutsu one or both.

Also, Registering and constantly relogging in your username is fucking annoying on IRC.

It really does get that out of hand.
They will have flame wars for up to 3 hours straight.
Any and all other conversations will be lost in the swirling torrent of fire.

Also, I just have a folder on my desktop named /msg NickServ IDENTIFY mypassword for speed.
No really log on to #doukutsu tomorrow night and see for yourself.

Guess i never really saw any of those, but i guess thats what the ignore feature is for right?


Also, it takes, what 20 seconds to type in /ns identify yourpassword?
That's a whole lot of work, isn't it.

i use YChat (freeware port of XChat) and it does it for me
it also autoconnects to esper for me
and it pulls up channels i bookmarked automatically

I'm trying to use IceChat, but constantly get an error on joining.

Mibbit is useful, especially since you don't need to download anything. It's pretty easy to use, to.
