60 second timer...

Old topic!
Guest, the last post in this thread is over 60 days old. Posting in this thread will be considered a bump, so please make an attempt to be courteous if you go ahead with it.

If the last post is over 6 months old, it may instead be a better idea to start a new topic. If you aren't sure about what to do, feel free to ask a staff member for help, or try to locate a 'general questions'-type thread if it exists in this (sub-)forum.

I've never even ran into the 60 second warning thing, before.
Just put more into your posts than "Yeah, what he said" or whatever. {That's where I've seen people complain about waiting 60 seconds, most of the time}
Posts are suppose to be longer than one liners, anyways...

Some posts are fine to be typed in less than 40 seconds, if there's not much to say or if it's just a simple forum game. I'm sorry the rest of this forum isn't as intelligent as Lowell, but that's just how we roll. I know this isn't a democracy, but a lot of the members don't like the 60 second rule. Actually the main reason for any form of post throttling is to prevent people submitting the same post more than once due to connection issues at either end.

However, it does find use in slowing down any spam-bot who uses a copy paste system to flood a forum with the same post.

For everything else, are you claiming that you repeatedly manage to consider, type and check posts that add value to a topic within 60 seconds of making another post elsewhere?

If someone really cannot wait a measly <60 seconds between posts, that is their problem, not the forums'.

...

I mean come on, seriously? :/ I guess it could be reduced to ~30 seconds and still have pretty much the same effect but it's such a minor thing to fuss over. I have had it happen before - mostly because I often work on two posts simultaneously - but I've never considered it bothersome.
